Steep school is a typical village school with approximately 110 children on roll. Classes are held from Reception to Year 6
The school has three main classrooms, two hard play areas, a new hall and access to Steep Common when the weather is dry for sports and recreation.

The privately-run Jubilee Nursery is housed in the Village Hall and caters for about fifty children between the ages of two and five years, both from Steep and outside the village. This thriving nursery has been active in the village since 1977. A small enclosed playground facility has been established within the Village Hall car park.
